pa trail cams

Welcome to PA Trail Cams. You can find information, parts, supplies, and photos from homemade trail cameras, called homebrew trail cams, here and by following links to other sites in the links section. I am located in central Pennsylvania, Clearfield County and have been part of the hb hobby since February 2009. My short term goal is to have a place to show off some of my pictures and centralize some of the years of knowledge that is scattered around the internet about the hb trail cam hobby. By centralize, I mean link to about anything you could want to know how to do. Granted I'm new at this so I will certainly miss some of the information. That's where you come into the picture. Email me if there is something you find missing and perhaps point me to where I can find that information and I'll try to get it added.

Advantages to building your own:
1. Better customer service from suppliers than you get from commercial cam companies.
2. You can most often repair your own in the event of damage or failure vs lengthy and often impossible warranty service from commercial companies.
3. Faster trigger times in most cases (depends on the camera)
4. Most do, or can, run on AA batteries vs D or C cells enabling use of rechareable batteries for savings.
5. Quality of the photos is significantly better in the majority of cases.
6. Higher resolution than commercial cams with comparable trigger times.
